I like that... thats the way scientist-me has always looked at it.

My frustration with that particular war is that much as, by definition, the science minded should not behave that way, ever... they sadly do, theorhetical science is often a political religion.

Sagan was a great mind, but his humanism shows the influence a Christian society can have still have on someone who makes a continuous effort to take a scientific view of the world. It feels good, it seduces, it makes one popular with the masses. Humanism is hard habit to break.

Humanism, especially its egalitarian aspects, is a gateway drug to Christianity.
