His bio is short, but the series is a work-in-progress. Simply put he's a vampire that's the result of rapid evolution due to radiation-induced mutation. He's also the leader of a coven - though... it's not really much better than a bunch of bikers, gang bangers, and a few normal (though unfortunate) folks. Before the nukes went off, Alexander was meek. Afterward, and after his change, he's a dominant personality and not afraid to get into a fight - though he likes diplomacy.
For sake of RP, I'm just going to say he stumbled onto a rift in time created by so many bombs going off at one moment across the globe.
