Scene 2 - It is an honour that I dream not of

Oct 09, 2008 09:43

The dreary mist hath lifted, as friend Silk did predict, and from mine window the whole of a city doth stretch before me.

Good Tybalt! I would walk in it, and learn the paths and shape of things. My new home, though home it be for only this brief while, should not a stranger be.

walk on the beach, gren, romeo candore van de montague, caspian, learning the city, cousin tybalt, tybalt is overprotective

That's a pretty way of saying the fog is gone.

Thy words are kindness, sir, but mine are nothing of note.

They're like a song. Lilting and lyrical.

And thine are filled with flattery, tho I find it not in my heart to protest.

I just know music when I hear it, that's all.

Are you new to the City?

A lover of music?

Aye, barely two days past.

A musician by trade.

So. Welcome. I should introduce myself: my name is Gren.

Then thy flattery is doubly so, and so my gratitude for it.

Pleasure, good sir, and well met. I am Juliet, of House Capulet.

Juliet. That's pretty.

You're doing okay here? This can be a strange place to find yourself in at first.

I find the Fates have blessed, in bringing me to cousin Tybalt's side. Tho I think he dotes too heavy and would have me look on all with suspicion, still am I grateful for his protection.

Your cousin's not entirely wrong, but he might not be entirely right. This city can be dangerous, just like anywhere else. But some of the people here are great.

And some aren't. You just have to use a little bit of common sense... but you probably know all this already.

My kin do oft times think me too innocent. But yet I have not spoke nor seen any such who would cause me fear. 'Tis only kindness, and good company.

Innocence is a good thing to hold onto for as long as you can.

And only here for two days: I'm glad you have someone here and that the days have been good ones for you. They won't always be. Not that it's really my place to be glad or not for you, but you sound like a nice person. Do you know about the park and the beach, the places to walk? Some of them are really nice, if you want to get out and about.

I thank Fortune for my luck in having my cousin, tho I would wish for another by my side as well.

Alas, I have seen naught but a fount and carousel briefly, my cousin Tybalt's dwelling, and such fog as never my eyes have witnessed. I shall be glad to see a beach, for I think 'twill put me in mine of dear Verona.

The beach is really pretty.

Do you have someone who can take you?

My cousin I am sure, tho I know not whence he returns. I cannot see harm if I go without him, sure he will not wish me to pine indoors for freedom and sky.
