Well, it looks like someone had a bad day.

[It's said playfully; had the age gap been less dramatic, it would have been flirtatious, but in this case he's simply having a bit of fun.]

[Kurt halts in his tracks, which requires him to balance both records and bicycle for one wobbly moment. He kind of braces for getting hassled.]

Excuse me?

Hey, I didn't mean anything bad.

[It certainly hadn't been his intention to make the kid more defensive. He gestures a bit to the bike and records.]

Do you need any help with those?

[He shuffles his record sleeves a little.]
I think I'm fine. Just... making myself more at home here if I'm going to be in for the long haul.

[they hadn't had any sondheim who are these people]

Unfortunately, that's probably for the best; I don't think anyone's figured out a foolproof way to leave yet. Of course, if they had, they wouldn't be around to tell us about it.

I'm getting used to it.
[shrug]

I'd meant to find West Side Story for the cast members who hadn't heard it, but they didn't have anything good.

They don't have anything good. You have to get it all from home.

That's the show the school is putting on?

[Lyn doesn't talk much about the high school, so Legault is thus a bit out of the loop about it.]

Mhmm. I'm a little surprised.

Why would that surprise you?

That show was pretty daring when it came out, believe it or not, and this place seems so strait-laced. And... "Gee Officer Krupke" might not go over too well. We might not get a second performance.

I guess that means I need to go to opening night, then. I'm not from this world at all, so I wouldn't be familiar with any of the theatre regardless.

[Not that he could be called "cultured" back home, not in the normal sense; an assassin doesn't have much time to indulge in fine arts. Here, though, he at least has the opportunity.]

Oh. Didn't even think of that. It's a retelling of Romeo & Juliet about two teenagers from rival--

[Well, that's not much of a frame of reference either, what is with these people and ~other worlds~?]

... You'd be better off just watching it. I don't know when performances will be, but please show up.

Everything we do for ourselves here is better than anything they do for us; unless we have another machine tearing the place down it will almost certainly be the most interesting thing happening, whenever it does open.

But of course. I'm in it, after all.

[He's mostly being self-mocking but oh yes.]

You'll have to keep up that kind of advertising. People will have to go, just to see if you're as talented as you claim to be. I'm trapped now.

[practiced hairflip]

The rest of the cast's going to be great too, of course, but this might be my big break here.
