Public Enemies

Met up with Katherine and Timmay for dinner (Mi Rancho om nom nom) and then Public Enemies.
Katherine has lost a bit of weight! She is noticeably thinner, esp in the face. She seems very busy these days. Timmay still a bit grey (:/), but he's doing ok. We are trying to go to Coheed & Cambria/Heaven&Hell later this year.

Outside of the theatre, some older black security guard saw my Green Lantern shirt and actually knew what it was and thanked me for protecting the city (Surprisingly not the first time I've been mistaken for a superhero in Silver Spring). I mentioned I didn't have the ring :( He pointed to his own silver ring and said there was nothing to fear from him (in an allusion to Sinestro, GL's arch nemesis, who has a power ring of his own). Timmay pointed out he had a passing resemblance to the Samuel L Jackson version of the Octopus in the rather unmentionable The Spirt movie.

Public Enemies was very good, IMO. Not as good as say Heat (another Mann production), but still very entertaining. I have to look up the story and see what facts they skewed/jazzed up, etc. Like the one scene where one criminal is holding up 2 Tommy guns. That's a bit much.
I def could get a lot of inspirations and....dreams... from this.(disclaimer: no I am not going to go rob a bank).
During the previews we all concurred we'd rather watch Muppet Christmas Carol again instead of the new Jim Carey one.  Katherine was 'surprised' how the movie ended, and Timmay and I chuckled about that. I mean seriously, most movies about a criminal end with the criminal 'paying' for his crimes with death. And um this was based off a true story, so that 'wildcard' of his fate is not really there.

Afterward, we met up with Bret and Elena and played Rockband/Singstar for a bit. Pretty fun!
