jan18: "So much for our sad republic." - D.M. Reyes
jan19: "There was not one amongst us who looked forward to being born. We disliked the rigours of existence, the unfulfilled longings, the enshrined injustices of the world, the labyrinths of love, the ignorance of parents, the fact of the dying, and the amazing indifference of the Living in the midst of simple beauties of the universe. We feared the heartlessness of human beings, all of whom are born blind, few of whom ever learn to see." - Ben Okri, from The Famished Road
jan19: "'I don't want to know what time it is,' Alex declared cheerfully. 'I don't want to know what day it is, or where I am. None of that matters.'" - Jon Krakauer, writing about the true story of Christopher McCandless
jan20: "I've always been astonished to see that a fashionable hat, the right bustline, a pair of stiff boots, a little suit of cumbersome little furniture, some silverware and porcelain is enough to quench, in so many people, the thirst for well-being." - Isabelle Eberhardt, from In the Shadow of Islam
jan21: "How very cool it feels:/ taking a noonday nap, to have/ this wall against my heels." - Matsuo Basho
jan21: "I'm a sari-sari store for you, baby." - Madel Ching, :D
jan22: "Gusto ko ng sheep because they're like clouds. But they have heads, so they're thinking clouds." - Rachel Castanares, Hi Rach!
jan22: "Every now and then, I feel that my existence is justified." - Snoopy
jan30: "To the person in the bell jar, blank and stopped like a dead baby, the world itself is the bad dream." - Sylvia Plath, from The Bell Jar

I had a dream the other day and in my dream there was a song playing, or at least a short bit of a song. It went, "We talk about love, we talk about life, and everything in between."
I got excited because once, I'd dreamed that I was in an art gallery and in that art gallery, posted on the walls, were works of art that I had never ever seen before, works of art that I had created in my dream. So maybe, this was the same thing. :]
I searched the lyrics on Google however and it turns out, the song does exist (:|), except I got the lyrics wrong. It was from Mika's My Interpretation, which goes, "We talk about life, we talk about death, and everything in between."
Ah well. :D

I seem to have a very nasty, or eager (depending on how you think about it really) habit of stocking up on too many things of one thing.
CASE IN POINT:
New Songs to Learn and Sing:
--Quite a few Rilo Kiley songs, just downloaded today :D
--The whole Stranger than Fiction soundtrack, because I absolutely loved the film!
-- The Out of Body Special's isLove album ♥
--Tears for Fears' Famous Last Words collection, which has 35 tracks
--The whole score of Wicked because I'm starting to feel like a loser for not knowing all the songs
--Random songs I downloaded because I heard them on people's iPod's or on the radio, and I liked them :D
--3 Pinikpikan albums, if Miggy finds them
--the whole Juno soundtrack, once I see MJ again :D
And that's just from the past 5 days! Hah!
It is absolutely the same with books! I've got a whole stack of books that goes up to half of my upper thigh that I still have to read. And I'm still planning to get Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar at the book sale tomorrow. I'm also planning to read the whole Lemony Snicket series. :D
Ah well. :D
