Weekend

Well, the whole disappointment thing was cleared up. He was sick, and was "disappointed" that I went to a friends house to watch motorcycle races instead of rushing to his aide. Geekus.

We made up by having an amazing weekend together. Friday we drove to Chicago, made a quick stop at White Castle, and then picked up his friend Justin at O'hare airport. Justin and Masuo grew up together in Japan, went to college together in Boston, and still get together every other year or so. We went out to eat at about 10:00 pm for sushi, and then we went to a Japanese style Kareoke bar in Chicago. It was a lot of fun -- Masuo can actually sing! I only did 2 songs, and it was humiliating, but I wanted to pretend to participate in the evenings events.

We drove back to Milwaukee and got home at about 3:00 am.

Saturday morning, we all woke up slowly, and then headed into the hood to eat some Pho at Phan's Garden. Then we met up with Masuo's friend Chuck at the Lakefront Brewery for a Brewery tour. Good beer - yummmmmmm. I found out they do weddings there, and it looks amazing when it is all set up! After the Brewery tour we went to Chucks house and he made some amazing ribs, and we shot pool, darts, and generally hung out. I left and came home to spend some quality time with Pinki and finish making Dana's bachelorette party invites, did some laundry, watched Pride and Prejudice. The boys stopped over at around midnight to get Masuo's car (I took the STI when I made a break for it at 8:00) and they told me about their adventure to the Strip club. They ate their taco bell here and then headed to the Casino.

Justin flew out at 10:00 this morning, and I think we showed him a good time. I like him, he was fun, and it was fun to be around someone who knew Masuo since he was 10. He's probably the closest thing to family that I will meet any time soon since Masuo's family is all in Japan.

I guess Justin lives in San Antonio and Detroit. He works for some automotive company and pulls in crazy amounts of money...freeking over achievers. I was worried he would think I was too low budget for Masuo, but he seemed to like me. Here's this trendy Japanese/Hawaiian mixed kid with so much money he doesn't know what to do with it, and me...crazy, loud, silly, living in the ghetto...LOL. meh. I can't wait to talk to Masuo and see if he liked me. One thing thats crazy is that he has a freaking Driver...like, he doesn't drive anywhere. He has a guy, in Tx and another guy in MI that drives him places. Weird.

Well, today I am being lazy and then I'm headed to Dana's for Pannini's and Margaritas. I'm going to look through my cookbooks and see if I can find any recipes for a good appetizer to bring.
