Working hard to go no where.......
Well, still no word on the Job yet, however, I did have this happen to me yesterday.
Gary: Hey Christin, Stop by my office at about 2:30
Me: Oh...OK
2:30 rolls around and I go to his office...secretly hoping he is going to tell me I got the job.
Gary then takes the next hour to tell me about my new job focus...the old stuff? Yeah, the shit I LOVED, the marketing, researching, putting a project through from concept to product? Nope...thats not what I do anymore. My new focus is IP. Intellectual Property. Patents. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
So for the last 6 years, I have been responsible for outside inventors ideas. In the last year I have managed to create a committee, head the committee, and streamline the whole process...Mind you, this is the part of the job I hated and only did the committee so it wasn't so much work for me personally. Well, since that has gone so well, I am now seen as the resident expert on IP, IP processes, confidentiality agreements, etc. So now, I get to attend meeting after meeting after meeting...logging all our IP, internal ideas, as well as keeping up with the outside inventions as well. I get to attend a meeting every day from 1000 - 1030 . I get to attend a monthly meeting with our Lawyers. I get to attend weekly meetings with the IP Committee, of which I am now on. I AM TO SIT IN MEETINGS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. So basically, I shot myself in the foot doing a good job because these people think I actually like doing this shit. So, unless I hear about the new job, I am FUCKED.
ugh.
And, to top it off, there is no pay raise. No nothing. Just the typical take it up my ass, nod and smile, and do whatever because I don't have a goddamn piece of paper yet saying that I am educated.
The only positive is that our Patent Lawyer, Ed....is so hot. And I get to sit in all these lame meetings with him all week long..........oh he's so pretty. and an ex marine...yummmmm
