It's Friday the 13th. Day of bad luck right?
Right.
My cat that I've had since I was 5 and is like my brother and I love more than anything in the world is being put to sleep.
He just had surgery to remove a tumor from his small intestine about a month ago. He seemed to be getting so much better, but now he just sits and can barely walk and stares into space. It is the saddest thing of my entire life seeing him. He used to have so much spirit and was just such an amazing cat. He listened to me when I was upset (or I felt like he did) and I will miss him everyday.
Its seriously like loosing a family member. And some of you may think I'm over reacting, but I truly love him as much as the rest of my family.
I hate to have him euthanized, but realistically he is not happy and he just sits there. It has to be done. God I hope we're doing the right thing....
EDIT:
extended list of illnesses in the comments. He was very sick and had about 4 things seriously wrong with him. I held him as he passed on and it was very quick and painless. The Vet said that it was remarkably fast meaning he most likely was holding on only by a thread, which I could tell since I thought he was going to die on his own yesterday. Sorry if the original post sounded weird. I loved that cat with all my heart.
