I tried keeping it short for once.

So my hearing is muffled and my head hurts. I went to the loudest show I think I've ever been to last night. First up was a band from Illinois called The Living Blue. They were really fun rock n' roll with a garage sound but relying heavily upon old blues rock standards. The lead guitarist was amazing. Next was some band who's name I never caught, but they dressed all in white and rocked pretty hard and yet sometimes softly. After them was LKN, Lauren Newman's band. She's such a small, unassuming woman, and yet she can rock out like you couldn't even imagine. Lauren put on one of the most interesting performances I've ever seen. The music wasn't really my type. It was very very heavy with lots of screaming and headbanging, but they pulled it off without sounding like they were ripping off anyone else's sound. It was fun, but way too loud.

I got to see Samantha there, which is always a treat. She's neat to talk to. Jarah showed up with her posse, John and Chris. I always like hanging with John. he's a good conversationalist. Chris is a really cool guy who I had not seen in ages, so it was good to see him.

So after the show I walked home. I left the car at home in case I drank too much, which I did. There was a prostitute at the corner of U Street and Cervantes, and I had to walk right by her. She asked me what time it was, so I told her. Then she asked what I was up to, and I told her I was going home. Then she said, "Don't you want to have a good time?" So I said, "No, not tonight. Have a good night." Then I went home and stayed up too late watching Seinfeld Season five on DVD. Then I woke up hungover with muffled hearing.
