Really like this one. Only, why dont you edit out stuff like "hehe" and "lol"? People wouldn't say that out loud usually, and it looks funny to me to see it printed as if it was the dialogue of the characters. Yknow?

Thanks! Well, I told myself no editing, but if you think it really detracts from the flow of the little stories...I think I'll try to get a consensus on this sorta thing when I post next week. Especially because I'm having issues with some of the new ones and what to do with *action asterisks*...like, should I have the characters say or do those things? Do makes a lot more sense, but that would mean a form of editing. Maybe I should just take a more illustrative appproach with lol and the like. You think?

Yes'm. I think actions can be implied, as can things like "hahahha" or "lol" - if they would change the meaning of the story if taken out. otherwise I think random lil things like lol or *grin* shouldn't be counted as part of the ten lines.

Above all, it's you shaping the pictures to the words given, and if your picture needs to tweak the words, I think that's ok - you wouldn't be substantially changing the meaning or jist of what the lines say. Just the way they said it.

i.e. line says "I love the sky because it is blue" and you change it to say "I love the blue sky" .. I think that's ok.

Just my two cents... as someone who is a frequent user of *action asterisks* to display absurd things
*leaps off the wall*
*hides giant robot in closet*

I would really want to see Jen's illustration of those things. But I don't think dialogue like "I love the sky because it is blue" should be changed... that's dialogue. Also, "I love the sky because it is blue" is substantially different than "I love the blue sky," both in actual meaning (maybe she loves the blue sky because she doesn't like clouds, in the latter case. Or it lets her point to robots which are clearly visible) and in conversational nuances such wording conveys.

Man, I should get an LJ name to stop with this anon crap.

In *the conversational nuances, etc etc.

Yeah, but simple ones like "lol" are just.. well, they seem odd as "dialogue".

I agree that my example sucked, I think that would be wrong to change that too but I didn't know another example to give -_-

One of the features of LiveJournal is getting an email notification when someone posts a comment (or reply to your comment) to you. And I have GMail and a GMail notifier, which shadowwindow pings me from my statusbar when I have a new mail. So pretty much as soon as I receive the notification that I have a new mail, I open my inbox and go reply to comments ( ... )
