[ When it comes down to it, Mia may be one hell of a sophisticated artificial intelligence, but... she's nowhere near actually being human and therefore, was never really designed for anything like this. Elk's disappearance was one of the hardest things she's ever had to face, and the influence of the mushi that affected her recently only served to tear down most of what she had left and had built up since it happened.
That said, she is in fact still alive, although mostly locked up in her apartment and... thinking. A lot. Of course, this means she probably hasn't been taking care of herself too well, but... what do you do? She has finally gotten around to her journal again, though for once, is having trouble thinking of what to say, even after she's decided to say something at all. She's not used to thanking people when it's unprompted, at least when-- well, in any case.
Unfortunately, it seems that whatever she might have eventually thought up will have to wait until later. The journal seems to "start" just as it's thumped onto the floor, and shortly afterward there's a dull crash followed by the sound of Mia's panicked voice in the background- probably not all that recognizable at first, considering the sudden departure from her usual demeanor and tone of voice. ]
How-- how did you get into here? -- No! Don't touch me!! Don't--! AAIIIEEEEEEE--!
[ And then... nothing. If anyone were to actually check out the commotion they'd find her door broken open and a mess inside that's not entirely caused by the recent scuffle, but... no cat-lady. BRB, experiments to be done. ]
