Hi all. I guess I haven't updated in forever... it's weird, I'm still a lj addict, lol, but I just never feel like sitting down and writing about myself!

How are the holidays going for everyone? Thanksgiving was pretty uneventful, it was the "off year" for both my mom and dad's family, so Steve and I ended up going to my mom's and making dinner. The catch was we only had $12. So I made roasted chicken with lemon, garlic and parsley, rosemary mashed potates, candied carrots, broccoli, fried corn and rolls. Oh, and pumpkin pie! Lol, it was a fun time, and didn't turn out too bad, either!

I've spent most of my time here at school since we got out almost a month ago, and I've been working my butt off at Michaels. I got the job thinking that there wouldn't be too much to it, but good lord, it's a hard job! I guess all retail is like that, but there are just so many thousands and thousands of things to learn about... and to learn where they all go! Plus, everyone who comes in expects you to know about every craft known to man- "how would this glue work for making mosaics?" and "do you think paint or stain would work better for this?" At least in the month and a half I've been there I've learned how to look like I know what I'm talking about, lol.

Steve and I went to Aaron Oney and Holly's wedding on December 2nd. It was a little weird at first to see him getting married, but I absolutely love them as a couple, and I think that they are some of our closest friends. The wedding was simple and beautiful, and we had a really good time at the reception, and hung out with some friends we hadn't seen in awhile. I hung out with Victor Burkhart most of the night, and we had some really good talks. I just love that kid, and I wish we could see him more often! The rehearsal dinner was the Wednesday before the wedding at this cool little Italian restaurant by the Tri-County Mall. Aaron and Holly gave gifts to all the people in the wedding, and they gave Steve tickets to the Festival of Lights at the zoo. We're going to go on the 20th, our 5 year anniversary. I can't believe it's been so long!

Steve and I have done a lot of talking lately, and I think we've figured some stuff out. We've been thinking a lot about how much money we've taken out in loans for school, and we've decided (for now) to look into moving off campus together. I mean, we spend all of our time together anyway, it doesn't make sense to pay so much for 2 places. Tomorrow, I'm going to call the Financial Aid Office and ask them about aid for living off campus. I figure we can save several thousand dollars a year, so that would be a lot less to worry about once we graduate. If we did end up moving, it would be right after spring quarter ended, maybe around the third week in June.

The last thing that's been happening lately is the surgery issue. I'm so excited, I really think there's hope now- my dad is getting new insurance through his work (Aetna), and his plan does cover the surgery. Now, I have to go on a 6 month physician supervised diet (to make me healthier for surgery, and to give me a chance to see if I want to go through with the surgery), lose 10% of my body weight, go to tons of doctor's appointments, get tests done (psych evaluation, upper GI, blood work, blood gas test), and submit stuff to the insurance company. It's a lot of work, and surgery is by no means an easy way out, but I am getting more and more sure that this is the right solution for me. I'll update as I know more.

I guess I had more to talk about than I thought, but I'm sure you all are just estatic to hear about my life! LOL
