"Yunho-" Jae Joong cried out softly, hoping his best friend would respond to him, only to have himself cut off.
"Stop it Jae."
Jae Joong opened his mouth to protest, but quickly snapped it shut as he watched Yunho struggle with his words.
"Whatever you want to say...I don't want to hear it." Yunho scoffed as he bunched his hands into a fist. "I already know...and-I can't do anything about it. I'm not like that. I'm not like you."
Jae Joong stood silently as he stared at Yunho intently. He would never know how much those words had hurt him. Why couldn't he just understand that what they had was special? That no one was going to replace Yunho's place inside his heart?
Blinking his eyes, he tried to keep his tears from falling...but failed as he felt the wetness hit his cheeks. "I-I'm going to go home now."
And with that, Jae Joong left him there.
You would never know how much you mean to me.
How much I love you.
And most importantly, how Jung Yunho can never be forgotten in Kim Jae Joong's heart.
Chapter 1
It had been 3 months since that fateful day. Jae Joong had tried to keep everything normal with his smiles and jokes, but his friends could easily tell that something had changed between him and Yunho. Replacing the random hugs and kisses was a stiff hand shake. The bond that had taken them 12 years to make...was broken by a simple confession.
Sighing to himself, Jae Joong stared gloomily in front of him. That seemed to be his favourite past time now. Staring at nothing...and just wondering...what could've been.
What would happen if he didn't confess?
Would they still be good buddies?
Like nothing had changed at all?
But Yunho said he knew...so it didn't matter if Jae had tried to tell him or not.
Frustrated, he buried his head into his arms. It was like he couldn't think anymore. Ever single thought was of Yunho. He had tried to wait...hoping that his friend would start to accept his feelings. But that didn't seem to be happening. In fact, he had started to ignore him completly.
Before, Yunho might've just given him a slight nod or something like that...but now? Every time he passed by him in the hall way, he would just stare emotionlessly in front of him until the both of them had passed each other. Jae Joong hated how Yunho treated him like a plague... like he just talked to him, he would get a disease or something.
"Stupid asshole." Jae Joong grumbled to himself as he lifted his head up slowly to catch one of his friends coming into his room.
"You've got to snap out of it." Changmin ordered as he tried to pull him out of his chair.
"What're you talking about?" Jae Joong asked innocently as he watched the dark haired boy in front of him. The usual cute food loving Minnie was gone, instead, he was replaced by the serious one who sometimes took over for a spin. But that was only when he had something serious to say...
"Why can't you stop moping and just forget about him already? You're affecting everybody around you you know?" Changmin said as he put on his angry face...which only resulted in a cute little pout. "Chunnie and Junsu haven't had a cuddling session for awhile...just because they were trying to cheer you up."
"I've been smiling all the time." Jae Joong simply said as he raised his eyebrows.
"...a fake smile?" Changmin said quietly as he narrowed his eyes at him. "Jae Joong...you have everybody worried. Especially me."
"Worried? You? Why would you be-"
"Oh for gods sake." Changmin mumbled before he crashed his lips against his.
Shocked, Jae Joong couldn't help but wonder. Changmin was kissing him?
The one that was always shy?
That wouldn't talk to just anybody?
The one that was suppose to be straight...next to Yunho?
"Changmin!" Jae Joong cried out as he pushed him self from one of his closest friends. "I-I...you...what?"
Jae Joong couldn't help but still feel the faint touch of Changmin's lips on his. The sweet strawberry taste of his tongue...and the smell of this lingering fragrance. The feeling was weird...and he was strangely yearning for more.
"Yunho, Yunho, YUNHO!" Changmin yelled out as tears streamed down from his face. "Is he all you can think about? Yunho? Is he so important that you can't see some one who really loves you? Huh? Answer me god dammit!"
Choked on his own words, Jae Joong couldn't bring himself to say anything. Changmin had liked him? Fuck. The sweet innocent boy...tainted himself to be in love with a guy? The one who said that he would always go for a girl first? Staring at the younger boy in front of him, Jae Joong could tell that Changmin had exploded his feelings randomly.
Watching the colour go to his cheeks, Jae Joong heard him mutter softly, "I-I...I'm going to just...go n-now."
Jae Joong stared at his retreating back for a few seconds before standing up quickly. "Changmin! Wait!"
But it was like he couldn't hear him.
His heart thundering against his chest, Jae Joong managed to reach Changmin before he went out the door. Wrapping his arms around his waist from behind, Jae Joong whispered quietly, "Don't go."
His voice was hoarse and his face was pressed into Changmin's back. The warmth of his skin through his clothes made Jae Joong shiver as he felt Changmin stop. Hugging him tighter, Jae Joong could feel his own tears falling from his eyes.
It was like every bottled emotion was pushing out of him. Ever since the incident with Yunho, he had never cried. Never shouted. Never said anything about that subject. But now? It felt like some one had just pulled the cork...and was saving him from his own desires. Desires that may never come true. That may just get him crazy.
Shaken from his own thoughts, Jae Joong could feel Changmin pull his arms away from his body.
"C-Changmin?"
Without an answer, his friend faced him and crashed their bodies together.
Feeling his strong arms around him, Jae Joong whispered quietly, "I...I didn't mean to act the way I did."
"I know." Was the only reply from Changmin as he stroked his hair.
Comfortable for the first time in weeks, Jae Joong pulled his head away from Changmins chest to look up at him. Bringing his head closer, they brushed their lips together...softly at first...until it was clear that they both had wanted more then just a simple cuddle.
Maybe it was time to let you go...Jung Yunho.
