[ So here you have the Gambler of Fate, a very meticulous man who's livelihood almost entirely depended on his acute attention to the most minute of details and his ability to predict future outcomes to various scenarios and choices. He's ventured out of the Pokémon Center, quite tired of that annoying music, to try and get away from it. While he was out, he figured he'd gather necessities before they left for Violet.
BUT THE MUSIC, OH GOD. THERE WAS NO ESCAPE.
Tarot, his peppy Growlithe was entirely unaffected, and just jumped around after leaves and ran up to various strangers. He was kept under some degree of control. But lo and behold, after paying for supplies in the Mart, a man had a package for him. A tan and brown egg with a note attached. He took the egg, never denying a freebie with piqued brows, and exited. ]
Odd, eh Tarot? [ He got a yip as Growlithe kept right by his side, curious. ] No use looking a gift horse in the mouth. Worst comes to worst, it should make a hearty omelet. [ And then he was greeted with that stupid music in the Center again. Not even the rustle of the bags on his wrists could offset the inevitable headache. Now to find the others and plot their route. ]
