(no subject)
I... am pleasantly drunk.
This wasn't supposed to happen tonight; I came to my Friendly Neighborhood Coffee Shop to have some tea (sick -- cold, cough cough), except it joins to a fairly fancy restaurant, which happened to have a wine tasting tonight. I was actually being fairly productive and working on my personal statement for my soon-to-be-due law school applications, when I happened upon the numerous glasses of free, good wine, and gave up.
So, six glasses later, I perform the requisite drunken posting to Livejournal. Hurray laptop.
Completely unrelated note 1:
I recently got an email from a friend of mine regarding this court case. Apparently, a 17-year old guy in Georgia had consensual oral sex with a 15-year old girl. However, at the time that was considered sodomy my state law, and was punishable by a mandatory 10-year sentence without parole(!) Two years later, he's still in jail, and his defense is organizing a petition to try to get him out. It's such an absurd and arbitrary law, and it's since been altered to cover circumstances exactly such as his, but he's still in jail because the amendment by the state legislature came after his arrest.

P.S. I don't know whether I find it appropriate or disappointing that LJ has a mood for 'drunk'. I'm using it regardless.
P.P.S. It turns out this crazy jazz violinist I'm listening to is named Christopher House. I guess that means I'm listening to House music? I dunno, but he's got some crazy synth-violin he's playing, and it's pretty neat.
