Since I was first exposed to fairy tales as a little girl, I've always been fascinated with fantasy. Since I was first exposed to Memoirs of a Geisha in high school, I've always had an interest in Asian culture. Thanks for the list. I've also been looking at The Fox Woman and Fudoki by Kij Johnson which both look good. They both are fantasies based on Japanese myth.
