t may have something to do with the fact that while Talia gets a nice story, Danielle and Snow end up feeling a bit underused.

Interesting. I didn't feel that at all. In fact, I took for granted that it SHOULD be Talia's story, and therefore Danielle and Snow should work in the background. Going in with that in mind let the book surprise me when Danielle and Snow were used at all. :)

The romance between Talia and the new character went right past me too. I wish I remembered the short story better that took place with Talia and the Sisters of the Hedge. I bet that character was introduced there and I'm forgetting EVERYTHING. At any rate, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about this romance, other than it's obvious new character isn't following Talia home, so.... maybe it was there for Talia to get back in touch with her roots, if that makes sense?
