Well, I am an idiot for not having taken any literature clases earlier: right now I am not reading any "great literature" but the reading is so much fun it is great that I get to do it as work.
Right now I'm reading Washington Irving, who, while not as funny as he is as the writer of Yossarian's letters in Catch-22, tells really funny stories, and in plain American English too, not any of this old-English-ass bullshit that you might get from this "Chaucer" motherfucker. Also, the book I got on Amazon is awesome. It has one of those bookmark-ribbons, and it has photographs in it that have a thin sheet of paper protective paper over them that clings to them and that you lift to see them. Old but functional stuff is really cool. This is part of why people do Civil War reenactments, which would probably be a lot of fun to do if a little crazy. I want to be a Viking raid reenactor. Think about it: since rape was part of the raid, rape would have to be reenacted with consensual sex. So basically, Viking raid reenactment = GUARANTEED sex with Scandanavian women. I wonder if there will ever be War on Terror reenactments, or War on Drugs reenactments.
