Bomb threats and other Fun Things
So, this past weekend someone wrote on a boy's bathroom stall that they were going to blow up our business school on Monday. The UO people freaked out, called the cops, and had the place swept with bomb-sniffing dogs even though they called the threat 'not credible'. Even when the cops didn't find anything they still closed the building for two days, which meant that I didn't have an afternoon class yesterday and was able to relax and enjoy the sun. Yay!
Then, this morning I got another e-mail saying there was another bomb threat last night, but that the university was continuing 'as usual'. Half the people I talked to thought it was a prank to try and get out of midterms this week.
All this on top of the kids arrested 2 weeks ago for having guns, knives and coke in their dorm on campus. What on earth is the UO coming to? I think the last time anything was blown up around here was the ROTC building during Vietnam.
