A Final Announcement
This may be a rather long post and I greatly apologize for that, however, I'd appreciate it if everyone read this post in its entirety. ♥
After a lot of discussing, debating, "headdesk'ing", flailing, and arguing; Waffle and I (Alex) have decided to Close Template. We are so sorry to those who have been here so long and those who JUST joined. We've appreciated all the support and hopes but we are sadly caught at what we feel is a dead end.
Obviously, we haven't been the best mods on the planet. We were slow in adjusting and it just couldn't cut it in the end. We tried to tweak Template in little ways in an attempt to stabilize plot without making any ENORMOUS and DRASTIC changes. But to be honest, that may have been what we needed. Our worries were if we had made huge changes to move away from a mod-run community (mod-NPCs, city wide plots... etc., etc.), would it still be completely Template? We felt as if there were limits to what we could adjust, even though the community was technically given to us, we never felt that it was ours to mold. This is not intended to be an excuse or a reasoning, simply a fact being stated. Clearly, we are at fault on that end.
We could continue apologizing profusely to everyone (believe me, we could. :\) but there is other news to announce. ♥
Waffle and I are terrible, horrible, stubborn mules! We know where our faults were, Template's faults, and the strong points. So in hopes of correcting the faults we plan to "revise" Template and reopen it as a new community by the end of May. We're calling the new community Contemplation. Ohoho, we're so clever. :|;; Contemplation will still have the more unique aspects of Template; the marks, second level, and Template!Universe characters. But the overall plot will be significantly different.
We're hoping the "revision" will give us a fresh start. However, any characters currently on the Taken list (besides the recent drops) can be omitted from the application process. Just ask about it.
Those are the plans. (A bit vague, I know) Thank you for allowing us to moderate Template, even if it was only for a short while. We've appreciated it greatly and cannot apologize enough about our decision for closure. But hold the highest hopes that the revision will live up to standards and beyond. We will see yous around. ♥
