Setting: Subaru's apartment
Time: Late evening (backdated to just after Subaru lost against Pyramid Head)
Summary: Subaru is hiding from the creepy that is PH, and Zelos offers to help fix his wounds.
Warnings: Nothing except maybe a bit of blood?

Normally, in a situation like the one going on currently, Zelos would have berated the person who had managed to get themselves hurt. That, and wondered what exactly was with all the healing she'd been doing since she'd arrived in this other Template. She'd never been very keen on using her magic back home, not even when she'd first acquired the ability to

Subaru wiped even more desperately at his tears when he sensed, and eventually, heard Zelos entering his apartment. He didn't much like it when people could catch onto his weaknesses, but it seemed too often that they did. He almost debated not replying when she called out to him in a weak attempt at showing machismo. Which was beyond rude to him, so with a sigh he said, voice shaking a bit, "I'm... I'm here."

Then he remembered she might not know where 'here' was. "In the bathroom," he added with a slight blush of shame. The blush deepened all the more at the realization that he was still wearing the shredded fairy dress, and the one thing actually still more or less intact was the skirt made up of green 'leaves'. A few of the bottom leaves had been ripped off, however, so he felt immensely humiliated to show so much thigh. Not to mention cold.

"I'm sorry, Zelos-san," Subaru murmured, hugging his knees up close to his chest. He didn't want anyone to see him like this, to tell the truth. But he knew he had no choice.

Upon hearing the young man's 'I'm here', she'd opened her mouth and very nearly asked where. The question was, however, answered before she'd managed to speak it

"I-I'm not cry--" The complaint was cut short by warm arms around him, and it was such a desired feeling, being embraced, that Subaru couldn't find it in him to refuse it. Especially considering how much his wounds and ego hurt in comparison. It comforted him enough that a new flow of tears began to fall down his cheeks-- it seemed he'd missed this kind of affection most of all.

The adrenaline that had caused his heart to beat mercilessly against his ribcage was beginning to subside at last. Subaru gently rested his chin on Zelos' shoulder, hoping he wasn't doing anything out of line by returning the hug.

"I know it's alright now, but I..." Subaru swallowed back another lump of emotion. "... But it's not. I didn't stop him. What if he hurts someone else even worse than he did me...?"

The kids in this place were really just something else, weren't they?

Zelos let the hug linger for a moment before pulling back from Subaru and smiling. He'd just gotten what was probably the scare of his life, and he was still worried?

"To be honest, it doesn't sound like any of us here have the kind of power needed to stop that thing. All we can really do is be careful, and try to stay away from him until this whole mess is over. If it sticks around too long...well, then we'll think of something."

She stopped then to start casting the First Aid spell. She was going to start getting good at the whole magic thing, if the people she knew kept getting themselves hurt. A handful of moments later, as the spell jumped into life and began taking effect, Zelos continued.

"Can't blame yourself for not being able to completely take that thing out, you know. But tell me - how's that? And, if you're feeling a little better...maybe we can vacate the bathroom?"

The worry for anyone else who may cross paths with the monster in the future still showed on his face, but Subaru mustered the strength and will to nod at her words. He wiped away his tears yet again, wishing there was something more he could do.

He was even letting her heal him. Yes, Subaru had lost any masculine pride he may have had long ago, and the torn up fairy dress really wasn't helping with the matter. Yet it felt good, having his aching, throbbing cuts healed by whatever spell Zelos had cast. So he let it happen with a small sigh that may of been out of relief that both of them were safe, at least for the time being.

"It feels nice... thank you, Zelos-san..." Subaru bowed his head, only to look back up at her and blush when she mentioned leaving the bathroom. "Yes, we can leave if you want... I-I just didn't know where else to hide. It seemed safest at the time, and I didn't want Axel-san to get mad if I left blood on the floor..." Which sounded stupid, but he felt bad as it was for leaving that dent in the wall a while
