Russia stood there, a bottle of vodka in one hand and his favorite faucet pipe in the other. Not that this was a strange sight, by any stretch of the imagination, but it was important to him. It all was, really, when he got right down to it. The pipe looked more much menacing than any piece of metal had the right to be. Sure, it may have been the blood, still dried on the end, but that was just for aesthetics.

His coat was drawn up, and his scarf wrapped tightly around his neck like a noose. The medal on his chest gleamed like sun through a cloud. And as he walked up to the building, he smiled like a knife. He closed his eyes as he walked, humming a bit of his national anthem. It was familiar. Very familiar. He had to concentrate to do this right.

Nobody takes his friends, the people who belong to him, his away. Nobody. And when he found them, they surely wouldn't be anybody anymore ( ... )

Suzaku was the next to arrive, as it had taken him a little longer than anticipated to remove Nunnally's cat from his leg as he left the townhouse. Luckily the little beast had only hooked his claws into Suzaku's jeans and not his leg as usually happened.

A thick sweater and a long blue coat (with a random assortment of useless straps) protecting him from the cold, Suzaku walked up to stand in front of the seemingly open doorway. A quick glance at the second level revealed the barrier he'd been told of. In a way it reminded him of the Blaze Luminous he'd used on the Lancelot and the forcefields on the Avalon, but at the same time it wasn't similar at all.

"I'm ready," he said.

Ryu arrived without much fanfare, looking a bit small besides the bulky winter coat he was wearing. Even still, he shivered in the cold. He stared at the barrier, trying to figure out what it was. Magic? Or something else entirely? Either way, it would probably fall easily with a few attacks. If all else failed, he could use his Infini form... though he really didn't want to. He had never actually tested it.

"I'm here." He said quietly, looking around at those who had already gathered. They were all here to figure out what was going on, right? Hopefully they'd find their answers.

Leon frowned, making sure that his 9mm was loaded and ready to go before holstering it. Hearing the satisfying 'click' from the gun caused him to sigh in relief. Good. Everything was set up.

So many people were missing, and he sure as hell wasn't going to let anyone get hurt. Went against his police instincts, although it was safe to say they were more of "agent instincts" than "police instincts" considering how long he was actually an officer.

He drew his jacket tighter, adjusting the collar before checking the storage clips that were stashed on his shoulders. Extra ammo, check. His knife was in its holster on his opposite hip as well, so that was set. Now it was only a matter of time before they would enter in.

He was ready. "Locked and loaded. Let's go."

Edward watched as the four men arrived and smiled a little. It was kind of like when she was with the Bebop gang... but that was several years ago, and most of the time it wasn't for reasons this serious.

"Hi."

She pointed. "There's the door. Ed can get the barrier down for 'bout a minute, so when Ed says so, go through quickly. Not sure what's behind, so might not be able to open the barrier from the other side." She shrugged. Then she turned back to the barrier and went for a full immersion on the second level.

To the men assembled, it would have looked as if she disappeared entirely, unless of course they had their eye on the second level.

Edward approached the barrier and started hacking it. In this case, it was a matter of rewriting the data blocking the door... and it was surprisingly simple. When it was done, she dropped back down to the first level abruptly and said, "GO!"

Then she ran through to the other side.

And suddenly she was fully immersed on the second level again. What?
