Wow this weekend was fast!
Friday afternoon after tennis, Bill, Anthony, Peter, Fergus, and myself went out to Hacienda to see a movie. We didn't know what we were going to see and there was no way I was going to watch "The Hills Have Eyes". I'm not a fan of scary movies at all. seriously. I love Stephen King books, but I just cannot handle the movies. so anyway we decided to see "The Libertine" Bad Idea, very, very, bad idea. Seriously after sitting there averting our eyes for fifteen minutes, we walked out, I couldn't believe that the other people in the audience could sit through it. If you haven't seen it, please don't, and if you have, you know what I'm talking about. It really showed me how sick our country is, people were actually enjoying it. Ok,ok I'll get off my soap box and resume the story.
After getting readmission tickets so we could come back and see another movie some other time we all went to Anthony's house. When we got there it was snowing so we drove up to Masuda's house. After ambushing each other with some snowballs we drove around the hills with like five pounds of snow, waiting for somone to throw it at. It was pretty stupid, but it was really fun. We never found anyone we knew so Bill threw it on Jeremiah's porch and rang the doorbell. Wow, we're weird. We sat there for like two minutes all hopped up on adrenaline, but he never answered the door. Then since it was like 1:00 am we went back to Anthony's house and ate dinner. His dog is so cool, I hate having psychotic dogs. No one can ever come to my house...
Staying up that late was probably a bad idea since I was leaving for Monteray at like eight in the morning. Oh well. I fell asleep listening to my ipod in the car. My dad's best friend and his wife come out here every year from Washington DC and rent out a cottage, so we go down and stay with them. Actually it's usually kind of boring, but this year was a lot better. We got to go to Pebble Beach and walk on the golf course. It was pretty cool, walking the same path as Jack Nichlaus...yeah. And while we were driving on seventeen mile drive (quite possibly the most scenic road in California) the sun kept shining through the clouds. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The only thing that I could think of was the verse "The Heavens declare the Glory of God, the Skies proclaim the work of his hands" Psalm 19:1 If the simple sky could be that beautiful, how much more so is God? He must be infinitely more glorious than I can even comprehend. Later it also reminded me of this verse, "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. " Romans 1:20
Something else I was thinking about...every single thing in the entire universe is made out of nothing but protons, neutrons, and electrons. These incredibly small particles, in different amounts make everything. How could somone possibly believe that this happened by accident? Try this, Look at your hand, but try to see it as cells, and the cells as molecules, and the molecules as atoms. I don't know what you think, but it always blows my mind. Maybe I'm just weird.
I just finished typing up five pages of info on AIDS for UTT. It was really depressing, but it just makes me want to go overseas even more.
"You are what you love." Is this really true? Right now I think it is, if you really love something, you imitate it, as Shakespeare said "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and if you love something you devote your time, energy, and resources to it right? Hmmm.
I love Brand New, I can't wait for their new cd.
I read The Catcher in the Rye today. It was pretty weird. Very stream of conciousness.
My Dad keeps telling me that i have to get a summer job. We graduate on June 16th, I leave for wheaton on July 19th. That's a month of vacation. Oh well, maybe I can work at Hume for like four weeks...
Yearbook is over, except for the tennis pages, but still, it feels so great...I hope the sophomores don't hate me. Hahaha.
I'm so screwed up, I have everything I could ever need and I still catch myself being ungrateful, you would think that reading about millions of people dying from AIDS would stop it. But I still mess up...
