[Those who are familiar with the Knight-Commander may find something off about her today. It's not easy to notice- she's not smiling inanely like so many of the drones, nor is she chattering about nothing in particular as she shops, bakes, and otherwise performs her housewife duties.
But after a bit of observation, you may realize that the hard edge that is always in Meredith's eyes has faded. Her trademark scowl has been replaced with a look of quiet contentment.
For perhaps the first time in decades, Knight-Commander Meredith looks to be at peace.]
Happy Fourth of July, neighbors. I have noticed quite a few strange calls being passed around lately, and I hope to put a stop to this nonsense now.
Whatever games you are playing, you may feel free to play in your own time and in your own home. But I will not see this holiday ruined for the rest of us who haven't gone completely stark raving mad. My children have been excited for this day for weeks, and I'd sooner not have to spend it explaining to them that the town that they've grown up in is, in fact, real.
That is all. I hope I shall not have to report anyone to the authorities, but be warned that I will do so if necessary.
Oh, and... if anyone sees my husband, do be sure to send him home.
