Dear all,
Just to preface this, GW is GOLDEN WEEK. GW is not the current leader of the US. Now that, that is done. On with the update.
So GW was kinda a downer. Just personally with the death of my grandmother and then my bike blowing out a tire it was kinda not the best time for me. Alread discussed my grandmother, so on to the comedy portion. Now my bike would not have been an issue if during GW all the bike stores near me did not close! So I was without a convient mode of transportation. (Think living in Socal without a car.) I still had the trains and busses. But the main station is 20-30 minute walk from my apartment. And me being a convience enthuthiest (how the hell do you spell this Ping?) I tended to stay around home. But it was good not to have work. I was able to relax at home and see Kanako a lot. Which I will never complain about. Although I kinda see Ahmad's point about running out of things to talk about. This time I really think it is just what we know how to say in the other language. We are both a little afraid of saying things that we will not be able to explain. And a lot of the random stuff people talk about is stuff where you need just a bit more language skill then we have. ::shrug:: I was able to catch up with some of my friends back home. Well Annie mainly. But still it was good to catch up. It was also nice to catch my breath and we in Japan without a huge pressure of always worrying about work. Not so much worrying about it but schedueling around it.
Have to admit that I did make one error in my break. I was invited to go to Hiroshima with Nobi and chill with his family for a BBQ. He was going to show me some cool samurai stuff and I could have hung out with his family. So I was all amped to go and meet him at 9pm. Now this is the important thing. When we texted he said 9, and I responded with 9pm?, but he never commented on it. So I assumed he meant 9pm. NOW STOP!!! What was my mistake? (I will wait exactly 4 seconds.) 1 2 3 4 If you said, "when you assume you make an ass out of u and me" you are correct! He was coming to pick me up at 9AM. So I missed out on that. At the time I was with Kanako at an observatory. It was a cool place. Really pretty. But the bus ride was killer and the buses don't come very often. (3 busses a day! 5-6 hours apart)
Now back at Kojo doing what I love to do. Teaching my 2 years. Man I love my second years. I know normally I hate my 2 years but hey this time they are not the bad ones. It is the 3 years (now if that ain't a fluke I don't know what is). They are silent, really really silent. I got some to speak today. Bingo and the promise of stickers, but they spoke! Not sure if I should be happy about that or not. Maybe if I can find a better carrot... Well off to the ink well with Bobo (just for my family, they will laugh). Later all.
