So, I haven't updated here much. I felt the damn peer pressure of facebook, and voila, there I am. (Send me a private message if you want to add me on facebook)
So, things have gotten better, and worse.
My last, well, my last updated update, was not long after I was poked for a liver biopsy. It came back with not much, but I did have liver disease. Non Alchoholic Steatohepatitis. No. It's not contagious. It just means I am on the way to scarring of my liver. Now, I have to watch what I eat, I can't drink, and I'm trying desperately to loose weight. It also means I have days that I'm swaddled in pain and can't get out of bed, though I'm stubborn and force myself to do it anyway. I also got diagnosed with GERD. It is not fun waking up in the middle of the night spewing stomach acid out of your nose. Trust me on this.
I'm also on meds I would rather not be on. But, it seems to be a necessary evil in this case. They help, but I still hate taking pills.
With this new revelation, I was told I probably shouldn't have anymore children, as I'm also a carrier for hemochromatosis, and also have the gene for porphyria. So I went and got spayed. It was planned to happen anyway, because I didn't want any more children. I have my reasons for that. I ended up having the Essure procedure (They put little coils in your tubes) I'd suggest it to anyone wanting to be permanently fixed.
Zack has Autism. High functioning, yes, and he well, is very high functioning, but it explains alot of things of his behavior. In many ways, it's a sigh of relief, now knowing and now able to get assistance when needed in school, but in many ways it is saddening. Yet, it doesn't define him. He keeps surprising me every day how he's able to still be who he his and have his own way of doing things without anyone telling him he is incapable. I have a feeling he will be growing up as a very rich military engineer if he keeps his current 'focus'. (Who else has a kid that can build an almost working robot out of stuff around the house?) I took him caving for Veteran's Day, he proceeded to tell the tour guide how stalactites and stalagmites are formed.
I'm 30 now. And I'm faced with my mortality. I'm falling apart it seems, physically. I'm terrified of growing old, but hey. Not much I can do about it.
I've been married 9 years. (Yes, my bday and my anniversary are 2 days apart) And with him for 10. It's almost unreal, because we've lasted longer than any other married couple I know, save one. I can't believe Rob still puts up with me. We've been through alot of ups and downs. And I'm still very much in love with this man.
I can honestly say, though my body has betrayed me, my mental state is one of contentment.. I am happy.
I am unemployed, and even though we could use the money, I almost don't care right now. I want to take a break, I want to be more mom than someone elses lackey. I notice how well my kid does that he has both parents home in the evening. I am on unemployment, and I know that my run will be limited, and yes, I'm looking for jobs, but I'm not killing myself to work at Pizza Slut for minimum wage, when I can wait, hold my time and get a job that I'll actually enjoy. For the record, my last job was a Security Guard for a pipeline. I was laid off because the job ended.
I've been involved with someone. Feelings are there, yes, But you know, it's not important. I think they are mutually shared feelings, but I don't feel the urge to find out what he's thinking about them. I have no desire to push. I am happy unknowing if he has the same feelings. I can only speculate and I have no desire to label something on a relationship that might be the wrong label. I am content in knowing this person, in knowing him, spending a bit of time here and there, and to share a few laughs. He has a primary in his life, and I'm, for once, happy not not be that. I feel no envy, no jealousy. It thrills me to see how he and his woman together. (Yes, Rob knows. He's friends with the guy too. We do have a poly lifestyle after all)
I want so desperately to start my own business. I mean, I have, sorta, I sell homemade collars and chokers online. I enjoy it greatly. It soothes me, and it gives me pride in something I've done. Now, if I can only just sell some more.
I am.. pleased with how I am. Minus of course, the health issues.
Oh, did I mention that Rob bought me a car last year? I freaking love that thing.
