To make up for yesterday's mood:
--A phone message from my best friend that says, in its entirety (no greeting or goodbye): "To be or not to be? Are we human, or are we dancers? That is the question."
--Having a reasonably good conference with a student about a paper, and getting a thank-you email afterward.
--The fact that there is a whole comm devoted to that Dalek that just got fished out of a pond, and how it got there (via
neadods):
http://community.livejournal.com/dalekinthepond/ --Spaghetti with tomato sauce. It's oddly comforting, which is good because I almost lived on it during my semester abroad.
--Also, dark chocolate with bits of candied orange peel.
--Everwood season two on DVD in June.
--Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris by R. L. LaFevers, a rather adorable children's book I just finished reading. (It's the sequel to Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos, which is also adorable.) I mean, really. Edwardian England, Egyptian artifacts, a plucky girl heroine who can *see* magical curses and sometimes sleeps in a stone sarcophagus? How are these books not made for me?
