Kit Photography. My name is ______. I'm 23 years old, a photography student, and some people call me a slacker. I prefer to think I am just taking my time in getting where I am going.
When I was 18, I discovered I could fly. It was quite by accident... I was fixing my parents' roof and I slipped. The fall would have hurt (it wouldn't have killed me, but it would have hurt)... but I didn't hit the ground. I stopped about a foot above it, and just hovered there for a while. Eventually, I just dropped the last bit and stood there in a daze trying to figure out what had happened. No one was around at the time to confirm or deny the fact that I had just spent a minute or two floating a foot off the ground.
It took me a while to start playing with my new ability... trying to make more of it than just floating. Eventually, I learned that I could "step up" so to speak, and actually fly. I just lift one foot, like I am stepping up onto a ladder, and then push off and up I go. It was kind of like riding a bike - the better I got, the faster I could go.
Now, if you know me, you know that I am a comicbook junkie. So I am sure you are thinking, when does he put on the costume? Get real. This is real life we are talking about.
But "with great power..." and all that jazz!
Really, I would rather be Jimmy Olsen than Peter Parker.
So I can fly. Big deal. If I were a superhero, my arch-nemesis would likely turn out to be a duck hunter, and then I would really be screwed.
I'm not bullet proof. I don't turn invisible. I have no martial arts training. My abilities don't make me a superhero... they just keep me from breaking my neck when I'm on my parents' roof.
The start of... something. I'm not sure where this goes from here.
