"He who would travel happily must travel light." -Antoine de Saint-Exupery

How many times have I walked this road?
How many times in days gone past have I charged up this hill to adventure?
Does the road know my name?
Can it recite my tales to the ears of listeners?
Of little feet trodden on wards or the groaning of a bike in need of oil.

Yes, a road I know well that is locked inside my mind,
clear as crystal and sharper then a two-edged sword.
A part of me is in this road,
it is so clear that it always will.

But the ages of my childhood have long since past,
A child of innocence no more,
But instead a veteran of the world of reality.
The road has lost it's way,
gone into the few minds of those who can remember it.
Or perhaps it is me, for long has it been since I traveled the road like I used to.
Perhaps never again as before.

The road no longer holds the old magic of excitement and anticipation,
but instead has been replaced with a new magic,
one less pronounce, more suitable and personal.
the new magic of peace and respite,
from a world that demands our attention.

There were and are many roads that we must all walk in life,
so filled with great joy,
others with overwhelming sadness,
but I will remember this road as it was a memory of pureness,
untainted by the demons of the world.

Not much happening over here. My great aunt and her boyfriend came up to visit yesterday. Most of the time they just talked with my parents, but they asked if I would play the guitar for them. Her late-husband Romeo, who died a while years ago, used to play so I played them a few songs.
After they left I found I had nothing to do, mainly because mom had an mid-term to study for and my brother went to his girlfriends place. So I went out for a walk and found myself walking up the road to my best friends old place. It was kinda unnerving since I haven't gone that way in almost two years since he moved, and I stopped when his place came into view. I guess thats were the poem above came from, but I enjoyed the walk, it not only gave me something to do but I also did a lot of thinking while out there. Hmmm times have changed.
