Saturday I took my first taxi! It was pretty nice to have someone just drive me around and let me stare out the window. It also got me out've the house and away from the girls! I went to Blockbuster and got some movies. 28 days later and 28 weeks later and that one with John Cusak 1408 or whatever. I was pretty disappointed in the zombie flicks - they weren't really frightening. A little disturbing I suppose but definately not the most shocking films since The Exorcist. Can't anyone make a REAL scary movie anymore? Not a film that's all blood, gore and torture - but a truthfully scary and suspenseful movie that has you twitching and covering your eyes? Years and years ago, they managed to do it. You'd think with the advancements in graphics they'd be able to do SO MUCH MORE. /frustration
While I was at a Walmart I was able to get all the items we've been putting off forever. I didn't have to worry about keeping track or worrying about a total. I purchased Heaven Candyland, since it says it's 3+ and I figured since she'll be 3 in just about 2 months it'd be okay to get it and she'd maybe enjoy it but I was fooling myself. We didn't get very far. It just seems like there aren't a lot of things Jason and I can "Play" with them -aside from stacking blocks or reading books. I got them some more pajama's and some of the Color Wonder's items, so that no more crayon ends up on my walls. >.< I was telling Jason the other day that when we don't have money I always find things I'd LOVE to have but when we HAVE money, I don't want to spend it on me. I always want to spend it on him or the kids. Which reminds me.. today I have to look at Old Navy and see if they have anything cute for the girls. I DID get myself some new dusting powder, so I could smell fantastic! It's from Lush.com (Which Crystal told me about.. damn you. :P) and it's called "Candy Fluff". There are pieces of irridescent and golden glitter and it has a light, sweet scent that you can't quite pinpoint. I love it the only issue I have is that it doesn't seem to wear as long as ALL the reviews (From normal people, like us, not magazines or whatnot..) claim. Maybe I'm just not putting enough on? Oh and I did purchase the DVD version of Roger and Hammersteins Alice in Wonderland. That's one of my favorite films and I figure with all the singing and dancing, that Heaven and Alayna might enjoy it eventually too. I know it has a lot more talking and interaction between characters than they are used to but.. we'll see. :)
Jason's new computer should arrive today. I'm really, really glad he FINALLY gets a new one. And he got a desktop too, so no more of this worries of propping it up and having fans blowing all over the place. ;D His laptop screen has about 10 lines running up and down it, in various areas and the lag is truly horrible, especially in places that there shouldn't be lag! It's an early Christmas present. :D I almost thought about getting the Wii because of some of the games that they offer with it but.. I decided against it. If I still really want one in a couple of weeks, we can use Jason's paycheck because then I'll know I REALLY want it and am not just wanting to buy something because I can.
Last night we took a stroll over to the nearby church and browsed the pumpkin patch that is set up there every year. We got our pumpkin's from there last year and they turned out well. Jason wanted to get two HUGE pumpkin's and put them on either side of the door and then put a couple smaller pumpkins nearby the them. I think it'll look great. We got some semi-large candles to put inside them so they glow for a long time when we're out trick or treating. We're going to have a heck of a lot of pumpkin seeds, that's for sure! When he arrives home from work tonight we're going to carve them up and with any luck, his computer will arrive too! And then we have Heroes and that other "Scary" movie to watch. It's going to be busy but I think it'll be fun. Some nice "Family" time.
And I'm STILL sick. Yarg.
