Name: Umi Ryuuzaki
Fandom: Magic Knight Rayearth
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Time Period: Post-series [manga]
Wing Color: Light blue [or at least, the closest shade to her hair]

History: Wiki
Personality:
Loud, short-tempered and very feisty, Umi's the last person you would think of when it comes to people who has the power to wield the element of water. And it doesn't help much that that temper flares uncontrollably like fire itself. She'll pretty much complain at you for almost everything, from the strangeness of the welcoming committee to how her favorite ice cream is nonexistent anymore. She's also capable of calling people names and pointing out how short/weird/annoying they are.

Umi gets easily frustrated when she couldn't seem to grasp what was going on around her. Then again, being shoved suddenly in a new world and then asked to save it didn't do much help really to calm her down. And while her two friends quickly accepted their fates as Magic Knights, Umi was the more reluctant one. Unlike the other two, Umi had the most realistic reaction of suddenly freaking out in a new world with floating islands, flying fish and bouncing porkbuns.

Umi also has a very strong competitive streak, if her being the captain of their fencing team doesn't say much. Never wanting to be left behind, always working hard to be good and strong. She's very independent and quite outspoken and opinionated too, unafraid to say whatever it is she wants to say.

Heck, if she doesn't even understand anything, she'd point blank call it weird until someone decides to explain it to her.

But while all of those makes her come across as a spoiled, selfish brat - and really, it's hardly surprising since she came from a well-to-do family and studying in a private prep school for girls - Umi is hardly one on the inside. She's very loving and kind and quite sensitive although she's only emotional when (1)the situation warrants it; and (2)she's in front of her friends. She has great respect and affection for her parents despite once remarking in an exasperated tone how they often act like newlyweds. And her loyalty to those she considers as friends is unwavering; it's the one thing that kept her going through Cephiro after all. She's not one to leave a friend - heck, sometimes even a foe - behind.

Unfortunately though, much of that side is hidden behind that strong and independent facade she's usually wearing [mostly because she doesn't want to worry anyone] and more often than not, she's a bit reluctant to reveal them unless she trusts that person with her life.

Likes... She likes English, spaghetti and baking. Ironically though, Umi dislikes sweet stuff.

Strengths:
Umi is very independent, stubborn and has a strong personality, never backing down from everything and anything. She's the one person you can count on never giving up until her last breath. Her determination to prove herself and grow even stronger is mostly because of the desire to protect her friends at all cost. Like I said in the personality section, she's very loyal to those she considers as her friends. This is quite evident during her test with the rune god, Selece, who made her choose between him or her friends who were at that being attacked. Umi immediately abandoned the test itself to acquire her rune god and decided to help her friends instead. But by doing so, she had proven herself to Selece her own inner strength.

Compassionate and understanding, she acts like the big sister in their group, keeping the Magic Knights together even through the difficult times.

And seriously, she's very forgiving to those who had done her wrong. Maybe there are a few exceptions to that, such as baseless killing and the like, but most of the time, she'd forgive that person and forget what they've done. She'd even offer to be friends, like in the case of Ascot and the Chizetan princesses.

She's also very intuitive and intelligent for her age. Not as smart as Fuu but smart enough to notice what is going on around her even without being told. She's quick-witted and resourceful and quite observant. Although admittedly, her temper gets the better of her and she often starts complaining before anything else.

Okay now! Let's move to her abilities and powers /o/

First and foremost, Umi is the captain of her fencing team back in her school. Now you might remark that it's only fencing but you still can't deny the fact that she's captain and thus have some experience when it comes to handling a saber. It also helps that she went to Cephiro and fought a lot of things, from monsters to evil mages to twins who are both expert in swordsmanship.

Also, Umi has magic and she specializes in water-based attacks. And because her element is water, speed is something Umi has as well as versatility when it comes to fighting. While not exactly innate as Clef had granted them their powers on their very first visit, he did mention that their powers evolve as they mature. So while the basics of the magic itself has been granted, the magic itself as they went through Cephiro became entirely their own.

Spells include: Mizu no Ryuu [Water Dragon - a water dragon is summoned from her arm, directed towards the enemy], Aoi Tatsumaki [Blue Whirlwind - a whirlpool is summoned in her hands and struck at the enemy] & Koori no Yaiba [Icicle Blades - Umi's only ice elemental spell, it creates several icicle shards to be used as blade to strike or stab the enemy].

Weaknesses:
Umi's greatest strength is also her greatest weakness: her emotions. Umi often has difficulty expressing her own emotions and for the most part, keeps everything to herself so as not to worry the others. The outward personality she shows is most likely her way of doing that. However, Umi's prone to jumping into dangerous situations recklessly, especially when her own friends and the people she love are at risk. She even abandoned her own test with the rune god in order to save them. She would always want to do something to help, never allowing herself to simply observe and do nothing. And this desire would always place her in a sticky situation. Trust her not to ask for help also if it comes to that.

It's also possible that her own temper can dig a grave for herself. Umi's outspoken trait is hardly difficult to ignore and she's very straightforward to the point of being blunt. If she doesn't like something, she'll express it out loud without any remorse whatsoever. Although usually, at the end of the day, Umi's often forced to eat her own words regarding a few things and apologizes for whatever she's said.

Lastly, if there's one thing Umi dislikes, it's being weak and useless and ignorant. Which is why her regret of being weak, of not being able to do anything, of not knowing anything is something she takes to heart. Upon finding out that the reason for them being summoned to Cephiro was simply to kill Emeraude, Umi and the two others were in shock at first and reluctant to carry it out. However, having no choice in the matter, they did it anyway to save the dying world. But it's possible that Umi, while never saying anything about, is still looking for a way to absolve herself of that sin despite already being forgiven and thanked for by Emeraude herself.

Magic-wise, considering she wields the power of water, Umi's most likely weak when it comes to the element of fire. Never mind that her temper can be comparable to it.
