Language Log 1 - Planning
So, now that summer has begun, I have a lot of time on my hands. Hopefully, a lot of that time will be divided between writing and language learning (with a sliver reserved for my summer classes).
Here are some ridiculously high goals I'd like to start working on this summer! I'll also try to post resources as I go, so if anyone else is thinking about picking up a new language, feel free to take a peek at what I'm using. If you're looking for a specific language-learning program or resource, please ask! I can probably track it down for you.
In order of importance:
Conversational Mandarin
- Review previous chapter - 15 minutes~
- New chapter of Pimsleur - 30 minutes~
French
Choose from:
- 30 minutes of BBC/Afrique
- 20 minutes of French audio books
- 20 minutes of Mass Effect 1 (en francais)
Arabic Alphabet (proof that Assassin's Creed can make me do anything)
- No set plans yet. FSI/DLI Resources, most likely.
Italian (still unsure about this one)
- Assimil - L'italien sans peine or Italian Without Toil - One chapter a day
- Teach Yourself Italian (Supplement)
Hopefully, I'll be posting every few days with the progress I've made. Also, if anyone has a good site/book that teaches stroke order for Chinese characters, I will be FOREVER GRATEFUL and will offer to write you epic fic.
