*silas's family basically set everything in motion with the conquering etc. it's a new thing. there are revolts sometimes--things silas has to take care of.
*birds and bird people don't have separate nations, they are spread out over whatever climate is best for them--some migrate, some don't, but they do not have one separate nation from one another. think of the modern world, but populate it with birds, bird humans and normal humans instead.
