Greetings from a new poster!

My name is Anna, and I'm an avid reader of fantasy as well as a big fan (recently) of Patrick O'Brian's novels as well as (in days of yore) Anne McCaffrey's. When I first heard about His Majesty's Dragon, I was absolutely delighted by how it was described: "Patrick O'Brian with dragons". As I have now just finished it as of tonight, I can say with assurance that the overall "Master and Commander Meets The Dragonriders of Pern" flavor of the novel delighted me from start to finish. I am very avidly looking forward to Throne of Jade and am very happy that the books are coming out so close to one another--which means I don't have to wait long to keep up with more of this story!

I have just posted over on my own journal a hefty spoiler-laden review post, and would be delighted to compare reactions either there or here. I look forward to chatting with you all!
