fun and games ^^

So yeah, I know I haven't been writing in a while...somehow if I only have like one thing to say it doesn't seem worth it to get into the entry program and submit a whole entry. But at least it isn't like those other journal places where one entry takes up a whole page no matter how short it is...so I really should write more often even if I don't have much to say I guess.

Well, it's not like I have nothing to say this time or anything though. The best thing that's happened to me in a while is that I got Neverwinter Nights from ebay. ^_^ Yeah, I have to be careful about it though...it's rather addicting and I do have 18 credit hours this semester, so I can't play it too much. I think I'll play it for a little bit tonight though just because I'm almost done with my TAM homework due Wednesday and I don't have anything due earlier than that (although I really should read the rest of the assigned ENG reading for tomorrow...but I can do that tomorrow. Yeah. lol). I should go over the kanji words for the Japanese quiz tomorrow one more time too, but that won't take long though.

Yesterday I started playing with the LEGO Mindstorms robot set I borrowed from the engineering office. Yeah, you heard me. LEGO robot set. It's actually for that ENG 199 class I have reading in. It's a project class where my section gets to teach a small group of middle school girls to use these sets to build and program a robot that can fulfill a challenge. There's actually an official competition, called FIRST, using these sets, and hopefully the girls will be able to enter the contest. It'll be lots of fun I think, especially because we have to play with the robots first before we can teach the girls to do stuff with them. ^_^ It'd be cool to actually own one of the sets, but they're like $150, so that'd be a bit much. Besides, if I just owned it myself and didn't have to do it for a class it'd probably just sit in my closet somewhere most of the time anyway.

Tonight I spent a lot of money. Well, more than I usually do in a single night. Jeff, my friend from Japanese class, got to borrow his roommate's car, so we went grocery shopping since we both needed groceries. So I got like twenty-five dollars worth of groceries, which is normal for me. And then we went to get dinner because it was after 8 and we didn't want to cook. Then we went back shopping to a different Walmart because the one we'd gone to before didn't have some stuff we needed, and I got a pillow for my guest bed, a trash can with a lid, and a cooking pot set. (When my mother set aside dishes for me, she didn't give me any pots. So I had four shallow pans, one with no handle, and only one lid. It was rather difficult to cook some things with just that, so I figured I needed to buy a couple of pots. (spaghetti sauce, anyone?)) The pot set was 15 to begin with, so I spent another $25 on stuff for the apartment. And then, after all that, we went to get bubble tea at this Chinese-run internet cafe in campustown. Rather, he'd never had bubble tea, so I used this discount card I got at the beginning of the semester to get him one for like fifty cents or so (regular price is around $2-2.50). So that was fun.

Well, I'm all unpacked, except the place is a bit messy right now. I got sick over the weekend so I haven't felt like cleaning up at all in a few days. I'll probably do that tomorrow night. *sigh* so much to do...I'm so busy and the week has just started...well, that's because I didn't work ahead at all this weekend, having been sick. At least there wasn't an actual ECE lab today. That won't start until next Monday. I have to do the prelab for it before that. And ME homework is due Monday too. And ECE online homework is due Thursday, and TAM homework is due Wednesday, and a Japanese quiz tomorrow...yeah.

Anyway, I'm going to study kanji now, and maybe try to relax and play a bit of Neverwinter Nights soon.
