Today I made sandwiches for six straight hours. Usually working at Blimpie's isn't that bad. I mean, we get busy, then it slows down, etc. Today, Nick (my manager) asks me if I can stay late...then asks me if I can come in early. I do, and when I go into work at 3:30, I look around and see 5 people already working, not to mention there are loaves upon loaves of bread stacked EVERYWHERE.
It is then that Nick tells me that we have an order for 830 six-inch subs due tomorrow at 10:00 am, which is when we open. ALL those subs needed to be made tonight. It took the six of us until 9:30 to finish them. That's SIX hours of non-stop sandwich making. I will never complain about my job (usually) because it really is a rarity in the food service industry to find a place that genuinely cares about their workers, and where you actually work with great people, but today was something that I really don't want to repeat in the near future.
Anyways, after I left work I came home and did dishes (they are completely done Sne!), and now I'm going to go to bed to get some much needed rest before I go back to work tomorrow morning.
