I.
These commercials have been floating around on Tumblr and on my friends' lists, and all of them make me want to pack my bags and head to the airport, pronto. Feeling that old restlessness again, the nostalgia for both cities away from here and places I've never been. My father said to me once: "The experience of traveling is better when you're sharing it with someone else." Tomorrow I am going to Austin and it will be wonderful.

II.
My screenplay was performed aloud by graduate students from the theatre program. I wanted to die. Despite people telling me they liked it, I couldn't shake the feeling that my characters weren't as deeply considered as I wanted and some lines confused the actors because they were reading and understanding them differently. It occurred to me that if my story can't be read and felt naturally by complete strangers, there might be something wrong with its universality. And isn't universality what makes a good story -- something that transcends superfluous differences and grasps at basic experiences that everyone understands?

I have these ideas that I fall in love with, but I don't know if I've lived enough life to write them well.
