Penny hadn’t questioned it when the woman with the dark hair and glasses had come to them, saying she’d come to take Desmond for more tests. “But don’t worry,” she’d smiled, “We’ll bring him back in one piece.”
Instead, it was her father who had returned to her and Charlie. He won’t tell her anything, just says that Desmond is “safe”. And he won’t answer when Penny asks when she will see him again.
But Penny knows it’s when, not if. She’d never given up on Desmond during their eight years apart, and she isn’t giving up now. Desmond said he’d never leave her; he’ll keep his promise.
