Esau watched the fire rage as the volcano erupted, yet he felt no heat from it.
“You have done this,” Jacob exclaimed as they both watched the boiling hot lava flow towards the area of the island inhabited by the people he had brought there. “You talk of the destruction they bring, yet it is you who have caused the destruction today.”
“And what of us?” Esau replied. “They have destroyed what we were, and what we could be again. Does the thought of the end of us mean nothing?”
“It only ends once,” Jacob reminded him.
But Esau feared his actions had brought that time upon them.
