Any, any, aunts are the best (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina)

She's been trying to tell herself over and over again ever since her encounter with the Eldritch Terror version of Edward Spellman, that man wasn't who Edward would have been had he lived. Ambrose had told her that the people who returned were not themselves; Sabrina shouldn't take to heart his rejection of her on the grounds that Lucifer Morningstar was her biological father.

Yet the experience had made her grateful to have been raised by her aunts; Zelda to ground her in witch society, Hilda understanding her need to maintain her links with her mortal side and her friends, both of them always there for her; Sabrina couldn't deny that aunts (and cousins, of course, she said to Ambrose) were the best.

Any, any, "if your parents weren't dead already I'd kill them for what they did to you" (Riverdale)

Cheryl had never exactly been close to her mother, yet when Penelope Blossom died, she found herself asking Toni why she felt so upset about it, feeling like she shouldn’t be feeling anything like the same levels of grief that Archie Andrews had felt for his father, a man worthy of being called a parent.

Toni had never met Cheryl’s father, and had never liked her mother, and honestly had they not both been already dead she would have felt no qualms about killing them herself for everything they had put Cheryl through during her childhood. But she knew this wasn’t what Cheryl wanted or needed to hear right now, so instead she just said that it was okay for Cheryl to feel as she did, for her to grieve the relationship she could have had with her parents and now never would.

Any, any, awkward dinner party (Once Upon a Time)

When Emma and Mary Margaret had talked about doing Thanksgiving that year for the first time as a family since the curse was broken, they’d envisioned it being just themselves, David and Henry, and God knew it would have been easier. Then Henry had decided he wanted his whole family present, which meant Rumple, Neal and Regina too.

It involved a complicated seating plan, keeping Regina away from Mary Margaret, and Neal didn’t want to sit with Rumple, but they managed it, because Emma knew that Henry wanted them all there for him on the day, and who knew, maybe the next year it would be easier for them all.

Astra points out the stars and constellations, telling Kara some real names and some funny ones she and Alura had made up as kids, smiling to herself as Kara watches the stars in awe.

She thinks of how she and Non had discovered that Krypton was dying, how she couldn't convince their useless government to take it seriously, but doesn't share this with Kara. She wonders whether, one day in the future, someone stargazing will point out the remains of what had been Krypton.

Any, any, the masquerade/statute of secrecy/conspiracy/whatever has collapsed and now everybody knows the truth (Tiny Pretty Things)

For all Oren complains about Shane having been the one to crack and reveal that they hadn’t all ben asleep when Cassie fell, he also knows now that he would have been better to have backed up Shane’s story that they spent that night together rather than pretending to have been with Bette.

In choosing to maintain that other masquerade, the one where he was wholly faithful to Bette and had never been involved with Shane, he instead made it clear from his reaction to finding out that something went down with Bette and Cassie that night that he hadn’t been with her at all, and it ended up blowing up in all their faces.

He no longer has Bette, he also no longer has Shane, Cruz no longer buys the carefully agreed “we were all asleep” story, and Oren knows he can’t blame it all on Shane but a big part of this is on him.

Any, any, grieving for the living (Legends of Tomorrow)

Grieving for the original Zari, his Zari, feels somehow wrong to Nate when there's a version of Zari on board the ship with them, even if the Cat Chat influencer Zari created in the new timeline isn't the Zari he had grown to fall in love with. Plus the Zari he loved isn't technically dead, merely returned to the totem in order to save Behrad from dying again. She still exists, but he can never see her again, and in another way, grieving her feels right.

Supergirl, Astra & Kara, stargazing
