Very nice. I loved their conversation, and it's nice to see Desmond show some remorse for Charlie, while also admitting that he would have sacrificed him. It would have been great if they had addressed it on the show, but you did a great job with it.

This definitely should have been addressed on the show! The chief difference, for me, is that I never thought Sayid actually wanted to sacrifice Essam, rather to try and save both somehow as he tells Desmond above. Glad you liked this!

OOOH, NICE! This was such a lovely work, and I love how you had them interacting here. It makes sense that Sayid would think about Essam, pity that canon forgot it completely, and I really liked the dialogue, though. And the ending! Mm, sweet, very sweet. And the last line is love.

I find it very hard to believe that Sayid so rarely thought of Essam - this man was supposed to have been his closest friend, after all, although I do wonder whether the reason why he'd never seemed to have a close friend on the island was in part due to memories of Essam. Canon, eh?

But yes, canon should really have had these two discussing this!

Wow, I love this. I'm personally pissed that canon forgot Essam completely, so thank you for writing about him! I love Sayid and Desmond's conversation here, and I love how you explored Desmond's feelings in a deeper way than canon did. Basically, this is great.

I would say that I can't understand why these two never had that conversation, given the similarities between Sayid and Essam, and Desmond and Charlie, but then canon does have a way of overlooking certain things, so I won't!
