Summary: Written for lost_in_108 prompt #87: cross. Yemi reflects on what has happened to Eko as he picks up the abandoned crucifix.
As Yemi picked up the cross that lay abandoned on the ground after the guerrillas had taken Eko away, he reflected that everything his brother had ever been had been left behind with it.
The brother he had known had always done whatever he could to protect Yemi ever since their father had abandoned them, never to return. And Eko probably even believed that when he had fired the gun, he had done it for Yemi. But Yemi did not want to be saved that way. Yemi wanted his brother back, not the “born killer” of the guerrillas. But he would always love Eko, whatever his brother did.
