So last night Brianna and I made our way to the San Jose Film Festival to see the new Rob movie How to Be. First off, it was playing at the California Theater which is beautiful! It still amazes me that San Jose still has beautiful historic buildings. Anyway...we go up to buy our tickets and you can get in for $5 if you're a student otherwise it's $10. So I show the lady my school id and go figure Brianna left hers in the car. So she starts pleading with the lady swearing that she's a student. So the box office lady starts quizzing her, "What's you Thursday morning class? Who's you teacher?" And since Brianna said Italian, the lady asked her to recite the alphabet in Italian. It was amusing to say the least...lol.
So we get inside and sit in this huge auditorium and some dude comes on to introduce the film...and then it starts. Rob's name gets huge applause...lol. The movie was short but interesting. I was excited when I heard that he was going to sing in it, but however it was not the Rob voice that I had become accustomed to...lol.
For those that don't know, the movie is about a guy who is very unhappy in life and starts to question everything about him life. He finds this self-help book called "It's Not Your Fault" and pretty much starts to believe everything this Dr. wrote, he even gets the Dr. to fly out and stay with his family to try to "fix" him. It was really good. It was funny and sad and awkward. For those people who say Rob can't act based on Twilight can shut-up cause he was very believable in this role. He looked really grungy with his long hair always in his face and the outfits that he was put in...lol. But his accent...awwwww...swoon...
I recommend this movie. If you get a chance to see it, do! It reminded me alot of Lars and the Real Girl...just the way it was shot and the level of emotion. So if you liked that one, you will like this one.
