Hey everyone, in case you didn't already know about it, there's a bill in state government that is going to seriously hamper the tattooing and piercing industry in Kentucky. Tattoo and piercing parlors are already under a lot of health regulations and have to adhere to statewide standards.
The bill aims to:
-Put all tattoo artists/piercers before a board to determine their morals/ethics/mental status
-Would disallow out-of-state work AND bringing people in from outside of Kentucky (thus killing most convention options and guest artists)
-Would put hiring restrictions on a private industry
-Would not allow establishments to take apprenticeships
-Would not allow establishments to choose their own suppliers
-Would not allow workers to choose their instruction
Please call your senator at 1-800-372-7181 and express your opposition to HB 241.
