ARRRGH! I still haven't finished yet and there is SO FREAKING MUCH I want to talk about! Thankyou for this post-- I love it and will be returning to it-- also, I agree with you in a number of places-- and I'm really glad you enjoyed the game. :)
I wasn't a fan of 5-3 either-- solely because of the background characters: Amano had SO much potential to be explored as someone from Miles' past, yet... nothing. :( And Lauren seemed cute and interesting and kind of sweet and batshit all at once, but there wasn't much strength there with her. I did love seeing Oldbag and Ema though.
I love the Logic system and I think you summed up beautifully why it works so well-- if you've covered everything, if all else fails... use logic. :) Funnily enough, I found this WAY easier than the earlier games-- I guess I have more of a Miles brain than a Phoenix brain? ;)
I would have loved more Manfred and Miles interaction (not just because I'm one of three people in the fandom who ships them) and I seriously need to replay that case because apparently there is referencing there to future events and I missed it entirely.
I love Badd, too.
Loved little!Kay and have downgraded my dislike of her to "bordering on indifferent" in the fifth case. In the third, she was irritating, in the fifth, either I'm used to her or she just shuts up a bit more.
I love Shih-na and Calisto, too, and from the moment Calisto opened her mouth, I was very much, "I want to cosplay her." And when I first saw Shih-na and her gloves, I wanted to cosplay her. My household are perfectly unawaere, but this game has added two new costumes to my "want to do" (consisting of Dahlia, Miles, a partially-done April May and Franziska) cosplay list. :D
Your April May icon is really cute! Shih-na's gloves are absolutely gorgeous, and Calisto's outfit is pretty cool too (especially THOSE EARRINGS. WANT.)
And yeah, I'd agree, Lauren is kinda batshit XD I guess most of her can be blamed on teenage hormones!
And yesss, there is some foreshadowing with Manfred and Miles, it's this bit where Miles says something, and Manfred has this horrible smile and says something along the lines of "Yes, that would be more entertaining, now, wouldn't it?" *shudder* Eeeebil!
And yeah, I think Kay talks a bit less about stealing things by the time 5-5 comes around, I certainly noticed Edgeworth wasn't telling her off as much about that. Like she's found her boundaries or something? Idno XD
