...so i just realized i forgot last week's journal entry. er, whoops.
anyway, i wrote an interesting allegory last night entitled the 'chiaroscuro blues.' it's a rather strange story, told the point of view of a man you assume to be a paranoid schizophrenic. the story parallels the conflict of artists between definition (logic and planning) and chaos (ultimate emotion). in writers' terms, it looks at the debate over whether a story should be planned and outlined, or written in a frenzy off the top of the writer's head.

i got kind of caught up in the conflict, as i really have no answer to give. i write stories from both methods, and neither seems superior. therefore, i left the story open ended and unanswered.

i have an interesting story planned for tonight. me and some friends are going camping and i'm going to bring my laptop, so i can write a nice camping story. a nice camping story about a guy who's life is threatened by a bear, but kills it, and precedes to go all primal and nuts for a single night, dancing about the corpse and such. the only character outline i have so far is that i want the narrator to be human to a fault. and i know that the next morning, i want him to return to his original personality practically unchanged.
