Hitting a wall
So I have this thing I'm trying to do in SGA Reversebang. It's one of those stylistic things where I know what I want to convey but I can't quite find the words. Sometimes when that happens I get this "you know, a better writer could do this" feeling that doesn't help at all. So I whined a little in chat and then went off to do something I know I can do.
It's a tiny kinky John/Rodney thing based on a screen cap.
It’s not the greatest screen cap ever, but every time I see this scene in “Condemned” it makes me want to write fic where Rodney’s into BDSM. See, everyone else is sitting, but Rodney’s on his knees sitting back on his heels. And John thinks huh and he went down like it was natural and if he were mine, I’d make him spread his knees more and wow, did I just think about being Rodney’s dom?!
And he gives Rodney this look and for just a minute Rodney’s eyes drop and he straightens up a little and John, who didn’t even know Rodney was gay, wants him so bad it feels like a punch to the gut. He can’t let it distract him and he doesn’t, but later, when they’re home, he takes the collar they’d put on him and goes to Rodney’s room.
When John steps inside he doesn’t say anything; he just holds out the collar and looks at Rodney and Rodney drops his eyes and straightens up a little and John thinks oh yeah, this is gonna be good.
And it’s better than good because it turns out Rodney gives amazing head and cries when John uses his belt on him and gasps “more” and “Oh God, John” and “please please please” when John fucks him and doesn’t come until John tells him he can.
And later, when he’s lying next to Rodney, his hand on the back of Rodney’s neck right over the collar, John thinks mine except he doesn’t think it so much as say it and Rodney huffs out a little laugh and says “well duh.”

Of course there’s a meta reason for Rodney being on his knees while everyone else is sitting, but that’s no fun. Also, well hello there run on sentences.
