So today is César Chávez Day here in California. I think that the pretty much the only people who have it off are State and local government employees, but since Nancy falls into that category, she stayed home.
And me? I couldn't sleep. The race wank is.... I want to say that getting involved and posting my own thoughts was a mistake, but it wasn't. I wouldn't be me if I didn't speak out when I have a strong opinion on something.
Unfortunately, it's also very much me to want to try to fix things when someone I care about is upset. Needless to say, I can't fix this one, either in fandom or anywhere else. And that's hard on a personal level, never mind on a political level.
That's not the only reason I didn't sleep. I've been a bit manic in the last few days and while it's nothing like it was before the drugs, it never really goes away.

Also, if anyone who is not my mother, my sister or my girlfriend gets the quote in the subject header.... I dunno. Fabulous prizes or maybe just me thinking you're the right kind of geek.
