Because it's all about him...
So the girl!Rodney fic has insisted on being told from John's POV. Fifteen pages in and no sign of Rodney wanting to tell the story; it's all on John.
So now it's tentatively titled "Right Now, At this Very Second," which is, of course, part of the fantastic Sheppard quote from Rising: " Right now, at this very second, whether I decide to go on this mission or not seems to be about me."
I don't know if it's actually in character for John to have all these thinky thoughts about the situation, but to be fair a fair amount of what he's thinking is that not only does he not know Rodney all that well, in spite of working with him for over three years and sleeping with him for around three months, but he doesn't know himself all that well either.
I think some of this comes from working on this while I was working on the iPod fic; I really feel like I have a much better handle on John than I used to.
